Sports
Sports in NBRC are a popular way for students to unwind after a long day at work. With active participation from both sexes, sports on campus is also a way in which students, employees, non-teaching staff and even faculty from different departments interact and compete in a atmosphere of fun and entertainment. The campus is well-equipped with many outdoor and indoor sports facilities that are maintained by the elected Sports Committee.
Football
Regular football games are held in the evenings on a flood-lit grass football ground maintained impeccably by the gardening staff. "8-vs-8" games in the heart of NBRC's campus see the emergence of new talent every year. This all-weather sport is a wonderful test of control, discipline, teamwork and stamina!
Badminton
Another popular game among the students and non-teaching staff on campus. Players at different skill levels are encouraged to play, and the sport has seen drastic improvements in the games of regular players. Bite-sized competitions called "Clash of the Titans" are organized between the top 4-6 players on campus as exhibition games.
Table Tennis
The game that always looks easier than it actually is! Requiring a high degree of control, this game of spin and pace is played for hours, sometimes late into the nights!
Volleyball
With courts strategically placed in front of the hostels and staff quarters, the game attracts people of all ages. Students passing by are frequently coaxed into a few games by the sounds of laughter and friendly taunting!
Cricket
India's most popular sport also finds a home in NBRC. Played mostly on weekends and holidays, the sport has seen some powerful shots, acrobatic catches and close finishes. There is also an annual "Staff-vs-Students" game that has become a sort of an NBRC tradition.
Basketball
NBRC also has a full-length basketball court.
